A terrorist arrived at the entrance to the town of Karmei Tzur in Gush Etzion and stabbed a guard, at 5:30 AM Wednesday.
The terrorist arrived at the gates to Karmei Tzur by car.
He got out of his car, walked over to the guard booth and stabbed one of the guards. The wounded guard managed to push him off, and the second guard opened fire, killing the terrorist.
The guard, age 36, was stabbed in the arm and lightly wounded. He received emergency treatment on site, ans was then taken to Sharei Tzedek hospital. He is fully conscious.
In the recent weeks there has been a noticeable upswing in terror attempts near the entrances to Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria. Recent attacks, such as Havat Gilad and Ariel. There has also been an upswing in infiltration attempts, such as into Itamar, Adam, Efrat, Tekoa and other communities.

KArmei Tzur is located in southern Gush Etzion.
