The Ofer military court sentenced the Palestinian Authority terrorist, Malak Khamed, to two life sentences for murdering Sgt. Elhai Teharlev in a ramming attack in April of this year.
The terrorist came driving down Route 60, saw the two men standing at the hitchhiking stop near Ofra and ran into them, slamming into the structure.
Khamed was convicted of murder in the case of Teharlev and attempted murder for the second soldier he hit and wounded. In addition, he will need to financially compensate both families.
Teharlev, a resident Talmon in Judea and Samaria, served with the 13th Battalion of the Golani infantry brigade, as part of the Hesder Yeshiva tract, through the Tekoa Yeshiva. He graduated the Mekor Hayim Yeshiva in Gush Etzion. He was awarded the rank of Sergeant posthumously.
