The second largest lake in the State of Israel (after the Kinneret), located in the Beersheba River Park, is ready for visitors.
It’s a 22.5-acre lake, with a 148-acre grass lawn with many entertainment attractions. In the planning: woods, picnic sites, hiking trails and bike paths, leisure and recreational complexes for the whole family by the lake.
The lake is already filled with water, and thousands of fish.
When complete, the project is expected to be one of the most beautiful places in the country and a tourist Mecca. Lake Beersheba is starting a new area of family entertainment, cultural events, tourism, green lungs, and a new residential neighborhood.
Beersheba Mayor Ruvik Danilovich said two years ago, when the construction of the lake began: “The lake complex is the highlight of the development of the Beersheba River Park. It is a huge lake that will be an attraction for all residents of the metropolitan area, and restaurants, cafes and experiential projects will be set up for all.
“Our long-term vision is to pour water in the river channel from the east of the city to the west, similar to developments in Phoenix and San Antonio in the United States. The realization of this vision will create a great change and make Beersheba one of the most attractive and well-traveled cities in Israel.”
