U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman joined Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Sunday for a guided tour of a Hamas terror tunnel beneath the border between Israel and Gaza, pointing out the tragic waste of money and materials that could have been used for far more humanitarian purposes instead.
Friedman pointed out to Graham that the money wasted by the terrorist group to build the tunnel in hopes of attacking Israel or starting another war would have been enough to build two new schools, or 30 new homes instead.
As with most of the others, this particular tunnel has already been wired for communications and electricity.
“Hamas consistently makes the wrong choices for the people of Gaza,” Friedman wrote in a post on the Twitter social networking site. “Heartbreaking.”
