Israeli politicians are calling on former U.S. President Barack Obama to return the Nobel Peace Prize he received at the start of his first term in office.
The calls followed a highly detailed expose published this past Sunday (Dec. 17) by the Politico news outlet that revealed the Obama administration directly blocked law enforcement against the Hezbollah terrorist organization.
The moves were allegedly implemented in order to appease Hezbollah’s patron, Iran, so as to pave the way for the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal signed between Iran and the six world powers, of which the United States was the lead participant.
The White House, however, apparently directly aided Hezbollah in its bid to duck justice, thus contributing to the growth of the Iranian terrorist proxy group and its enrichment through money laundering and the drug trade via South America.
Inasmuch as Israel is directly affected by Hezbollah terrorist activities, politicians in Israel are now calling for Barack Obama to return the Nobel Peace Prize he won without ever having first accomplished anything to earn it.
Among those raising their voices are Yair Lapid, head of the Yesh Atid political party and a former finance minister, and former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, MK Michael Oren of the Kulanu party.
Lapid says Israel repeatedly issued warnings about the connection between Iran and Hezbollah, and between the nuclear deal and anti-terrorist activity throughout the negotiations over the nuclear deal.
Oren, who is now a deputy minister, said it was “clear from the start” that the Obama administration was “willing to do anything” to reach an agreement with Iran on the nuclear deal, even when it meant ignoring Iranian terror.
