The flight attendant, whose identity has not been released, was hospitalized at Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba in very serious condition with the virus.
She developed complications from the illness, which sometimes happens, particularly in adults. In her case, she became unconscious, requiring breathing support via a respirator. She subsequently developed encephalitis — a brain inflammation — and lapsed into a coma, which has continued for the past 10 days.
