Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis arrived in Long Island on Saturday to stump for New York’s GOP gubernatorial candidate and Congress member Lee Zeldin, the NY Post reported.
DeSantis was set to appear 7:30 pm at a “Get Out the Vote” rally Saturday evening at Zeldin’s campaign headquarters.
Saturday is the first day of early voting in New York State.
“I do have to say, New York, we may elect – I think we will elect – a Republican Governor Lee Zeldin,” DeSantis said in an interview Thursday night on Fox News.
Zeldin campaign officials said Friday that Virginia’s Governor Glenn Younkin also plans to appear with the GOP candidate at another voter rally on Monday in Westchester.
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton plans to appear on the Upper West Side as a “surprise guest” on November 3 at a rally for Democratic incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul, according to the City & State news outlet.
Clinton stumped for the governor earlier this month at a fundraiser on October 6.
