The most recent example of the deepening Israeli-Arab relations was a secret summit held in the Jordanian city of Aqaba on June 17, which was led by President Trump’s emissaries Jason Greenblatt and Jared Kushner, and hosted Mossad chief Yossi Cohen and his counterparts, the head of the Saudi intelligence, Khalid bin Ali al-Humeidan, the Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamal, Jordanian intelligence chief Adnan Essam al-Jundi and a representative from the Palestinian Authority, Ma’an reported.
The PA denied having sent its representative to the clandestine meeting.
According to Ma’an, the meeting came at the request of the American envoys.
Intelligence Online recently reported on the close secret relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia which has existed for years, referring to a meeting between former Mossad chief Meir Dagan and his Saudi counterpart. The French newspaper also noted then Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s meeting in Jordan with Prince Bandar bin Sultan, then head of Saudi intelligence and of the Saudi National Security Council.
