Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, a son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, is slated to present the ‘Deal of the Century’ Middle East peace plan on Thursday to the United Nations Security Council, according to diplomatic sources quoted by the AFP news agency.
Kushner will present the plan at a “closed door session” requested by the United States, which is one of the five permanent members of the Council.
According to the sources, Kushner intends to present the plan and then listen to feedback from the 14 members of the Council in the chamber during the session.
Thursday’s meeting is set to take place five days before Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas is expected to come to the Council to reiterate his “thousand no’s” to the plan.
