Incoming President Donald J. Trump, 78, was sworn into office on Monday, January 20, 2025, becoming the 47th President of the United States, with Senator JD Vance becoming the 50th Vice President of the United States.

Following the inauguration, Trump took to the podium once again to speak off the cuff with supporters in the Capitol Building prior to the start of the Presidential Parade.

The White House website also got a glitzy new makeover as well.

Trump also served as America’s 45th President of the United States (2017-2021).

The inaugural event served as the kickoff for four days of celebrations that will include fireworks, processions, partisan rallies, ballroom parties and religious services.

Immediately following the ceremony, the POTUS account on the X social media platform was transferred to President Donald J. Trump.

Due to dangerously cold weather, the ceremony was held in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building. Former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Argentina’s President Javier Milei, Israeli-American philanthropist Dr. Miriam Adelson, and tech leaders Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, were among the guests.

Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office.

President Trump began his remarks following the ceremony with the declaration, “The golden age of America begins right now … I will, very simply, put America first.

“From this moment on, America’s decline is over,” Trump emphasized.

Referring to the assassination attempt that nearly took his life last year while campaigning in Pennsylvania, Trump said he was “saved by God to Make America Great Again.”

The president also noted that January 20th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, saying, “We will make his dream a reality; we will make his dream come true.

“We will not forget our country. We will not forget our Constitution. And we will not forget our God,” Trump promised.

Nor is the returning president wasting any time: as he did in his first term, Trump announced his plans to sign dozens of Executive Orders following the ceremonies.

Among the orders to be signed are those that will:
– declare a national emergency at the southern border
– end the “catch-and-release” program
– reinstate Trump’s former ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy
– send troops to the southern border to end illegal “immigration”
– Rename Gulf of Mexico as “Gulf of America”
– Return Mount McKinley’s name (changed during Obama Administration)
– designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs)
– invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport foreign gang members
– declare a national energy emergency (“We will drill, baby, drill.”)
– open and use America’s domestic supplies of oil and gas
– export American energy “all over the world”
– end the Green New Deal
– revoke the Electric Vehicle Act (standing ovation for that one)
– impose new trade tariffs and taxes on foreign countries
– establish an “External Revenue Service”
– establish a new Department of Government Oversight (DOGE)
– immediately cease government censorship
– declare official government policy has only two genders: male, female
– reinstate, with back pay, all military personnel expelled from service over refusal to receive COVID vaccination.

Trump also announced his intention to ensure the US becomes “a peacemaker and a unifier”, noting that three Israeli hostages were released Sunday by Gaza’s Hamas terrorist organization.

“My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier…the hostages in the Middle East are coming back home to their families,” he declared.

The returning president also pledged to take the Panama Canal back from Panama, warning that China is operating the waterway. “We didn’t give it to China; we gave it to Panama and we’re taking it back!” he said.

In addition, the president proclaimed that he will support a plan by NASA reach for the stars — specifically, to put an astronaut on Mars. Cameras in the Rotunda caught a shot of SpaceX, Tesla and X social media owner Elon Musk cheering that statement.

Finally, Trump emphasized his intention “stop all wars.”

How he plans to do that — particularly in relation to Israel’s continuing fight for survival against the myriad surrounding genocidal terrorist organizations serving as Iranian proxies — remains to be seen.

Yeshiva University President Rabbi Ari Berman was among three clergy members who delivered benedictions at the conclusion of the ceremony.

“Hear the cry of the hostages, both American and Israeli, whose pain our president so acutely feels,” Berman urged.

“Pray the next four years brings peace to Israel and the Middle East.”
