The software available to publishers has advanced a lot since the old days. Dynamic layouts, books that come in all shapes and sizes, the ability to send huge files over cyberspace, and even apps that allow you to access sefarim on an interactive level have given publishers access to so many more possibilities. The world has also become more global, allowing publishers to raise awareness of issues affecting Jewish communities everywhere.

Technology can be scary – especially if you grew up in the age of the manila envelope. But there are so many good things you can accomplish with it, if you know how. And I believe Jewish publishers, rather than running from progress, have found ways to take advantage of the possibilities – for the good.
