Ann ends the book with this thought:

“Mostly I focus on my daughter Miriam for inspiration. She was twenty, pregnant and alone but she found the strength to keep positive. She replaced negative thoughts with positive ones and turned horror into opportunity. I pray that when you [the reader] go through adversity you take small steps. Take small steps always towards a goal and focus on the positive.”
