Chabad of South Broward held its 33rd annual South Florida Chassidic Chanukah Festival on December 13, the 6th night of Chanukah, at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach.
Over 10,000 people filled three mezzanine levels. The crowd was the most diverse ever. Locals as well as tourists from all parts of the world, and all walks of life, joined in the festivities.
Over twenty government officials took part in the event. The beautiful candle lighting ceremony, led by Cantor Rabbi Yossy Lebovics, was enhanced by the participation of the South Broward Friendship Circle special needs children and their teenage volunteers. A delightful concert was presented by 8th Day brothers Shmuel and Bentzion Marcus.
Rabbi Levi Tennenhaus, the event’s coordinator and Chabad South Broward representative, said the event was also broadcast live around the world courtesy of Chabad.org.
