Young Israel Sisterhood of Bal Harbour sponsored a Parisian-themed brunch and fashion show on Sunday, February 22. Close to 100 guests attended the event that took place at Bloomingdales in the Aventura Mall. Elegantly set tables and floral centerpieces, created by Debra Sussman, evoked the feeling of a spring day in an intimate garden setting.

The sisterhood serves Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Indian Creek and Surfside.

The fashion show chair, Amy Benishai, along with committee members Judy Farbman, Louise Wolinetz, Lillian Glick, Jane Sabet, Joni White, and Rozy Jaffe gave hours of their time to ensure the event would be an outstanding success.

Marion Goodman, Bloomingdale’s vice president of personal shopping, acted as emcee of the Spring 2015 Fashion Trend Show as she shared her sage advice on how to create a total look from head to toe. Models wore the latest styles as they glided down the runway allowing every participant a bird’s eye view. Designs by Basler, MaxMara, Ted Baker, Moschino, Versace, Herve Leger, Clover Canyon, and Hoss Intropia were featured.

As the fashion show drew to a close, raffles that included a wide variety of gifts and gift certificates to local kosher restaurants, boutiques, hair and nail salons, and plastic surgery services offered by Dr. Jeremy B. White, son of Joni and George White, were drawn. Many attendees walked away with a smile toting a pink bag filled with their raffle prizes.

Bloomingdales credited 10 percent of tracked sales for the week following the show, and indeed, a significant number of participants were seen immediately after the event shopping for the latest spring fashion trends. It helped to know that a portion of their purchases would be going to a great cause – Young Israel.
