On Tuesday afternoon, the fourth day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos, members of the Orthodox Jewish Chaplaincy Board, led bySenior Chaplain Howard Winkler, visited nearly 100 Jewishinmates throughout the LA County jail system.

One such group visited Men’s Central Jail and the adjacent Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles. The chaplains split into groups visiting and providing spiritual comfort to the inmates.

In addition to the uplifting visit, the OJCB, in coordination with the Alef Institute, arranged fora number of lulavim and esrogim be made available to the prisoners for daily blessing, even on days that the chaplains couldn’t make it in person.

Chaplain Winkler along with the other OJCB chaplains work tirelessly on a daily basis to ensure that all of the Jewish prisoners religious needs are met. The Orthodox Jewish Chaplaincy Board (OJCB) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization supported by tax-deductible contributions.
