Learning Disabilities and RTI

Multiple learning disabilities can be identified through RTI, among those are dyslexia, dysgraphia, sensory processing disorder (SPD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The earlier we recognize and treat learning disabilities, the more easily the child integrates into a mainstream classroom. Research has shown that early intervention is key when it comes to learning disabilities. Therefore, Response to Intervention, while a lot of work, is a program worth looking into. After all, through RTI, children like Baruch would not think they were “bad at school,” rather, they would learn the tools for success.
