The amount of planning and coordinating that goes into a project like this is enormous and there is no way I could execute it all on my own. One of the things I have learned is that a Jew is never alone.  This is what it means to be a part of the Jewish nation and to belong. Each of us is a part of a whole, we are brothers and sisters and we are there for one another. Two years ago, Purim time, with just one email – we were able to bring in enough funds to cover our costs. Donations came from Jews of every state and association and with each letter I was inspired anew. One girl who heard me speak about JCA in Oorah’s Girlzone was so inspired that she wrote an article about our work for her school newspaper. Another girl in Israel told me how JCA inspired her to go out and volunteer at her local nursing home – and she brought her whole extended family with her.

JCA has taught me that every person has the ability to change the world and that no person is too small to make a difference. Decide that you want to make a change and act upon it. I promise you, you will never regret it.

Founded in 2012, JCA (a/k/a Just Clowning Around) serves to bring Purim spirit to the elderly and home bound. JCA is an opportunity for guys and girls ages 19+ to experience Purim in a new light. By delivering mishloach manot, accompanied by song and dance, to people who would otherwise not receive any, JCA is dispelling darkness. You too can make a difference this Purim and become a part of something special. To find out more e-mail [email protected] or call 570-687-6408
