In Baltimore, some of the parents who don’t want to vaccinate their children are thinking about moving. A second mother whose children were expelled from Bais Yaakov of Baltimore and the Talmudic Academy of Baltimore (the school has not responded to various requests for a statement), says she went through “Gehennom” over this issue. She and her husband have always taken the safe route in their lives and vaccinations are no exception, since they worry about what goes into their children’s bodies. She says that people in the community are extremely frightened to speak up, and her once picturesque community now resembles an “Orthodox Jewish regime” and the fracas is souring her feelings on Judaism.
