In my day, if something didn’t make sense, we said: “it’s Greek to me.” I stopped hearing that expression a few years ago. Probably because of the woke generation. So, I will turn to the Greeks of this season and tell our readers an adorable thing one of my grandsons said 14 years ago, after his grandfather died a few days before Chanukah.
A very bright little boy, he had listened to everything his morah said. So, on that sad day for our family, he marched into gan and said to his morah, “My Saba (grandpa) died. Yes, he was fighting the Greeks and an elephant came and killed him.” Indulge me, but whenever I hear Greeks, that’s what brings a smile to my lips.
