These traits seem reminiscent of the Jewish people, always desiring His loving care, yet strong and resilient, hammered without breaking through the ages – an optimistic people, always seeking a silver lining.

What exactly is a silver lining? It is a metaphor conveying a glimmer of hope, in the midst of despair. This ability to envision one has sustained us. Yes, we have faced many clouds throughout our history. But “every cloud has a silver lining,” underscoring our fortitude in overcoming obstacles.

Years ago, I wrote a song entitled “Silver Lining.” Ken Burgress, illustrious British-Israeli singer and composer, wrote for major bands prior to his conversion and relocation to Israel. I chose him to sing it. His resonant voice of conviction was a gift, an inspiration.

“There is a place, a mystic place, like nowhere else on Earth. The Sun, it shines with Heaven’s glow, a canvas carved in stone – our dream is now reborn.”
