Siebern made his debut with the Yanks in 1956. He played in the majors for 12 years with six teams and had a .272 career average. His best season was 1962 when he batted .308 with 25 home runs for Kansas City.

But he will always be remembered by Yankees fans for being part of the 1959 six-payer trade with Kansas City that brought Roger Maris to New York. At the time, most players and fans were unhappy with the deal but just two years later Maris bested Babe Ruth’s single season home run record of 60 set in 1927.
