“Eastern Jerusalem’s Jewish Roots” at the Knesset with Yishai Fleisher

The Am Shalem Movement’s English Speakers Division held a conference at the Knesset in honor of Jerusalem Day. Yishai Fleisher was one the speakers at the event and spoke on the subject “Eastern Jerusalem’s Jewish Roots”.  Eastern Jerusalem is often discussed in the news as the “potential capital of a future Palestinian state”, without any acknowledgement of the deep Jewish history of the east side of Jerusalem.  It is not a separate city or a far-flung suburb in the boondocks with no connection to Jewish life or history ancient or modern.  Yishai Fleisher takes us on a walk through the Jewish roots of this part of Jerusalem and shows why it is an integral part of the eternal and united capital of the Jewish people.
