This week’s protests in Cairo against claimed manipulation and unfairness in the process of democratic reform led to chaotic and deadly clashes in the Egyptian street.  The violence has caused the Muslim Brotherhood and other political factions to suspend their presidential election campaigns for several days.  Widening protests started today, have been dubbed “Final Friday” and include groups from a wide range of the political spectrum in Egypt.  CNN reports that “at least 11 people were killed and scores injured in the clashes in Cairo’s Abaseya area Wednesday, where a sit-in protest has been going on outside Egypt’s defense ministry for the past week.”  The video footage and report from earlier this week is from Al Jazeera.
