Two Israeli women were killed and four other Israeli trekkers were injured when their overcrowded bus overturned and fell more than 450 feet into a ravine on a road in the Himalayas to Katmandu.

At least six, and possibly seven,Israelis were on the bus, and one of them still is listed as missing.

Local media said 11 people, including the Israelis, were killed. A Chabad rabbi led a rescue effort, and helicopters evacuated the injured.

Earlier this month, a crowded bus ran off a mountain road in Nepal, killing more than two dozen people and critically injuring others.

Last week, four Israelis were among more than 40 who died in an unseasonal blizzard in the Himalayas. Twelve other Israelis were injured and have been flown home.

Nepal is one of the most popular hiking places outside Israel for young Israelis.
