A few incidents of gunfire exchange were reported Monday morning on Israel's northern border with Syria.

In one incident an IDF patrol was fired on by shooters from the Syrian side of the border. The patrol identified the source and returned fire.

At least one attacker in Syria was wounded. It is unclear if the attackers were rebels or from the Syrian Army.

In another incident, a mortar shell fired from Syria fell near Israel's border, no injuries were reported. This was an apparent spillover from the civil war being waged in Syria.
