The Syrian "Muslim Brotherhood" said that Iran offered them a significant role in the Syrian government, in exchange for its support of  President Bashar al-Assad's retention as President.

The deputy chief of the group, Mohamed Farouk Tayfur, said in an interview with an Arabic newspaper that the offer was made three months ago, and reportedly included four ministries in the Syrian government.

The Muslim Brotherhood said it rejected the offer because it is committed to Assad's downfall.
