Word Prompt – GEULAH – Pesach Lattin

Judaism has changed. The Rambam never wore Crocs. The Chofetz Chaim didn’t scroll WhatsApp between shiurim. Yet, one thing hasn’t changed: we’re still waiting for geulah.

Still dreaming. Still davening. Still muttering “Uva l’Tzion go'el” while checking if there’s kugel left.

The Rambam writes (Hilchos Melachim 12:2): “Whoever does not believe in him [Moshiach], or does not await his coming… denies the Torah and Moshe Rabbeinu.”

Belief isn’t enough. You have to wait. Like a kid in pajamas watching the driveway.

The Gemara (Shabbos 31a) says: “Tzipisa l’yeshua?” Did you expect geulah – or just hope someone else would?

The Chofetz Chaim kept a Moshiach suit pressed and ready. “Just as a soldier must be ready for battle, every Jew must be prepared for Moshiach.”

We’ve built yeshivos, kosher sushi bars, and entire lineages of "Moshe Dovid" – but sometimes forget: survival isn’t the goal. Redemption is.

We can stack Torah ten stories tall, but if it’s not aimed at Yerushalayim, what’s the point?

So the next time you say “Ani ma'amin,” don’t mumble it. Say it like you’re boarding Flight 613 – direct to geulah.

Don’t get too comfortable in exile. The rent’s high and the landlord’s cranky.
