As multiple Jewish community centers and schools in a dozen US states have received bomb threats Monday, combined with the desecration of hundreds of gravestones in two Jewish cemeteries this month, Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday told reporters on Monday that recent bomb threats made against the US Jewish community are "unacceptable" and a "very serious and destructive practice."

The latest round of threats included Jewish institutions in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.

This–the fifth–round of bomb threats against Jewish institutions this year raised angry responses from Jewish community leaders, who have been calling for a more serious and aggressive federal response to the problem.

The Anti-Defamation League has issued a Security Advisory to Jewish institutions across the country, recommending review the Bomb Threat Guidance provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Department of Homeland Security; refer to the chapter on Explosive Threat Response Planning in ADL’s Security Manual Protecting Your Jewish Institution, which assists Jewish institutions in creating welcoming environments while keeping them safe; refer to ADL’s list of 18 Best Practices for Jewish Institutional Security.
