A new book shows clearly the parallels between Iran during Carter's regime and today.
The issue of what happened in Benghazi, Libya in September 11, 2012 is likely to come up in at least one if not several of the different topic areas. President Obama will seek to put a definitive end to the questioning about how his administration handled the crisis, and presidential-hopeful Mitt Romney will seek to lay out the inconsistencies in the narratives presented by this administration over the course of the six weeks since the tragedy.
When you talk to the man behind that organization, you discover that not only is he not lonely, he is not a particularly partisan individual.
In response to Pamela Geller's anti-Jihad ad campaign, The Muslim Public Affairs Council is joining with Columbia University's Muslim Students Association to launch its own ad campaign "to showcase the Islamic principle of 'repelling evil with what is better' (Koran, Ch. 23, Surah Muminoon, verse 96)." MPAC says its campaign will "call on New Yorkers to stand together in opposing bigotry and hatred," in its effort "HeArt Over Hate: Repelling Bigotry through Art & Music." It's a clever play on words, but while it looks to deliver on its promise to be repellent, what MPAC and the MSA will be showcasing is support for brutal hatred, torture and violence.
Candy Crowley, the moderator of the presidential debate at Hofstra University on October 16, interfered in this U.S. presidential race in a way no one ever has before and - let's hope - no one ever will again. Crowley loudly supported President Barack Obama's version of reality, and contradicted Governor Mitt Romney's recollection of the actual reality of what the president said in the Rose Garden regarding the events in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2011.
Hillary told CNN that she takes “responsibility” for what happened in Benghazi, “what I want to avoid is some kind of political gotcha or blame game.”
Arlen Specter, U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania 1961 - 2011, has died. Specter was 82 years old. Specter is survived by his wife, Joan, his son Stephen, his son Shanin, daughter-in-law Tracey, and 5 granddaughters. Specter was Jewish and over his lifetime belonged to several different synagogues. His granddaughters all attended a Conservative Jewish day school in the Philadelphia suburbs.
There was no demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on 9/11/12. There was no demonstration against the film that insulted Mohammad, or any other kind of demonstration. There was an assault on our country. And our government officials knew that, yet repeatedly attempted to spin it away from that conclusion.
President Barack Obama attended the wedding of the correspondent who will be the moderator for the VP debate.
He is not a scholar. He has been involved with the Muslim Public Affairs Council since its founding in 1986. He blamed Israel for 9/11.
These new regulations were announced on Thursday, just three days after the American Freedom Defense Initiative ads were put up with court approval.
Eltahawy was arrested Wednesday evening, September 26, in a New York City subway station because she insisted free speech included her right to deface an ad espousing a message with which she disagreed -- Pamela Geller's anti-Jihad ad. She also insisted her free speech right extended to spraying toxic paint on a woman, Pamela Hall, who tried to interfere with Eltahawy's efforts to deface Geller's ad. And then Eltahawy blamed Hall for interfering with her free speech rights and accused the arresting police officers of interfering with her "non-violent" protest, thereby engaging in anti-democratic activity.
The ads are already running on the sides of San Francisco buses, they began running today, September 24th, in New York City, and they were scheduled to begin appearing in the Washington, D.C. metro system. However, the DC system balked, citing the violent rioting by Muslims allegedly inflamed by a YouTube video which represents, so Geller initiated an emergency court action at the end of last week to enforce her First Amendment rights.
Griffith said, "I'm a proud Jewish American and I'm concerned that the single biggest entity funding you is J Street. J Street has given you $60,000, and as you know, J Street is funded by an attorney for the Saudi Embassy and has also been funded by the producer of one of the most anti-Semitic films ever made ...," but Griffith was not allowed to finish his question. The Senator's first response was that Griffith's was "clearly a political question."
The ad, which cost some $70,000, aired on approximately seven different television markets in Pakistan, according to U.S. State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland. The statement includes clips of the President saying, "Since our founding, the United States has been a nation of respect – that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.” But he wouldn't mention the name of the offending video. (Watch apology clip)
In a strongly worded letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary R. Clinton, eight members of congress have demanded that a request to release Omar Abdel-Rahman from federal prison be rejected. Abdel-Rahman, known as the “blind sheikh,” inspired the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and is serving a life sentence for his role in a plot to conduct assassinations and destroy bridges, tunnels and other landmarks in New York City.
Secure America Now is the organization behind the thirty second ad which shows Netanyahu talking about the over-arching foreign policy issue of our time.
Publicly, J Street repeatedly states that Halutz is against the drawing of "red lines," that is, the line in the sand beyond which military action against Iran must be taken. There are commentators who crow that Halutz's opposition to red lines reveals a reluctance to use force against Iran, and that it is an explicit criticism of the Israeli prime minister. J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami wrote: "Gen. Halutz has repeatedly said that … there is nothing to be gained from the public calls for deadlines and red lines." But Halutz, who is definitely against red lines, doesn't like them because he thinks they interfere with effective military strategies. Halutz says that Israel may even have to “go it alone.”
"Politically conservative Jewish students on campus were being treated like outcasts, even within the traditional Jewish campus organizations."
There is no scientific equation to determine what is hatred, but a Facebook picture of a smiling Anne Frank surrounded by the caption, "What's that burning? Oh it's my family" is an easy one. So is a Facebook picture of a baby on a scale emblazoned with a Jewish Star, where the bottom of the scale is a meat grinder with raw ground meat (presumably, a baby's) oozing out.
The news of the arrest was a major story in Mexico, but had little coverage on American or Israeli media sites. It should have.
Spray painted symbols of swastikas were found on road signs in the Monmouth Heights neighborhood.
Less than 24 hours after the "Jerusalem is the capital of Israel" language was reinserted, this administration has once again shifted course. In today's State Department's daily press conference, the United States officially refuses to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is after DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz insisted on CNN that the position of President Obama has always been that Jerusalem is and always will remain the capital of Israel.
For the past 15 years Abdullah Faarruq was the Muslim chaplain at Northeastern University in Boston. This week, Faarruq was revealed to be an Islamic extremist who encouraged acts of violence and who has publicly supported multiple convicted terrorists. But all traces of Faarruq suddenly disappeared from the Northeastern University website just days after his ties were announced in an article, and just before a shocking and carefully sourced video was released.
Also missing is what had been a solid commitment to isolate Hamas. Instead, the only pre-conditions imposed are the same for all Arabs in the area - "we will insist that any Palestinian partner must recognize Israel's right to exist [not to exist as a Jewish State, just to exist], reject violence, and adhere to existing agreements." That's it. There have also been changes regarding Israel between the 2008 Republican Party Platform and the one just passed in Tampa at last week's Republican Party Convention - and those appear to be more favorable to Israel.
An article in the August 28 "Foreign Policy Journal" entitled "US Preparing for a Post-Israel Middle East" claims to be based on a leaked document from a CIA staffer, commissioned by the US Intelligence Community, comprised of all four branches of the military, the Coast Guard, the Departments of State, Treasury, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the FBI and the National Security Agency. The document "conclusively reveals" that the CIA thinks Israel is the greatest threat on the face of the Earth to the interests of the United States.
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach's opponent, Democrat Bill Pascrell Jr., signed the infamous Gaza 54 letter blasting Israel for what it called "collective punishment" of Gazans.
Delegates to the Republican Convention have been pouring into Tampa for the last several days. The delegates have been pouring in, but thus far, despite predictions that Hurricane Isaac might bring with it heavy rain and driving winds, there has been 'nary a cloud in the sky. Lynne Kessler Lechter serves on the National Women's Committee of the Republican Jewish Coalition. Lechter told The Jewish Press that on Saturday night she attended a dinner for Republican Jewish Coalition leadership at the home of Ambassador Mel and Betty Semble...
Judge Gershon of Haifa District Court ruled today that the death of Rachel Corrie was an accident. In a 62 page court document, the judge stated there was no fault in the military investigation which the Israeli military undertake immediately after Corrie's death. The Israel Defense Force has been cleared of responsibility.
It turns out, the ambassador's position appears to simply be the opinion of Rachel Corrie's parents, the plaintiffs in the case against the government of Israel.
The Santa Monica hotel owner claims she never did or said the things the jury determined she did.
The Obama campaign seems to have no clue as to which rabbis would enhance the president's clout among Jewish voters, and which are political hemlock.
Round two in a no-holds barred debate on whether Jews should vote for Obama or Romney for US president took place Wednesday night at the Palm Beach South Jewish Community Center in Boynton Beach, Florida. The joint was jumping: hundreds of people were turned away for lack of space, audience members were shouting, speakers were heckled and interrupted and ugliness prevailed. But unless you were able to squeeze into the room, you'll have to take the word of those who were there. Why and when were cameras barred from the room? According to the panelists, the JCC management knew there were going to be cameras.
"Kosher Near Me" is a smartphone software application ("app") that will allow you to find kosher food pretty much wherever you are.
If you are already bored with the US presidential campaign rhetoric, do we have a debate for you!
The jury found for the plaintiffs on multiple acts of intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, malice, fraud and oppression, and violations of the California Civil Rights Act.
The Center's views have now been stretched so far that, in the name of tolerance and equality, the SPLC is partnering with, on the one hand, a Muslim group whose followers revere and support Hamas and Hezbollah, and a far-left think tank whose writers were spewing accusations of dual loyalty and other anti-Semitic canards just a few months ago.
The battle is being waged on the internet and phone lines, in the lead-up to a Sacramento City Council meeting on the topic which will take place on August 14.
Imagine this: two Jews, one opinion! Who accomplished this miracle? None other than former US president Jimmy Carter.
Jewish Voice for Peace invited other haters of Israel to sign a letter to Mitt Romney, lambasting him for his "racist" and "ignorant" statements about Palestinians.
Joining Romney in the announcement of this new coalition were House Majority leader Eric Cantor and former US Senator Norm Coleman from Minnesota, two out of a short list of Honorary Chairmen. In the announcement itself there was one concrete pledge made. Coleman said that, if elected, Mitt Romney pledged he would make his first foreign trip as president to Jerusalem.
More Jewish parents no longer ask their children only to which Ivy League schools will they apply, but in which elite IDF units they want to serve.
An upscale hotel on a Santa Monica, California, beach is an odd place to be singled out from a crowd and removed because you are Jewish.

David Delgado Shorter, a professor at the University of California at Los Angeles, has been given the official green light to continue using university resources to promote the boycott of Israel. Shorter prominently features links to the U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel on his official class website. The founders of the U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel have openly stated that their ultimate goal is the dismantling of the Jewish State.
Jerusalem originally showed up on the official website as the capital of a country, but it was East Jerusalem, and the capital was “Palestine,” not Israel. Following complaints filed last week by a spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Olympics site was changed. Now Jerusalem does not appear as the actual capital of any country at all.
Schultz declared: “There is nothing, and I mean nothing, in the Republicans’ right wing social agenda that appeals to the American Jewish community.”
The Middle East is becoming quieter. No, the swords are not turning into plowshares, it’s not that kind of quiet. Instead, it is the sound of truth that’s slowly being silenced. And it’s happening not only because the PA grows stronger, but also because the West grows weaker.
