Topics For Third Presidential Debate - This One's On Foreign Policy

By Lori Lowenthal Marcus

The issue of what happened in Benghazi, Libya in September 11, 2012 is likely to come up in at least one if not several of the different topic areas. President Obama will seek to put a definitive end to the questioning about how his administration handled the crisis, and presidential-hopeful Mitt Romney will seek to lay out the inconsistencies in the narratives presented by this administration over the course of the six weeks since the tragedy.

Muslim Groups' 'HeArt Over Hate' Not Really Over the Hate (VIDEO)

By Lori Lowenthal Marcus

In response to Pamela Geller's anti-Jihad ad campaign, The Muslim Public Affairs Council is joining with Columbia University's Muslim Students Association to launch its own ad campaign "to showcase the Islamic principle of 'repelling evil with what is better' (Koran, Ch. 23, Surah Muminoon, verse 96)." MPAC says its campaign will "call on New Yorkers to stand together in opposing bigotry and hatred," in its effort "HeArt Over Hate: Repelling Bigotry through Art & Music." It's a clever play on words, but while it looks to deliver on its promise to be repellent, what MPAC and the MSA will be showcasing is support for brutal hatred, torture and violence.

Crowley's Interference Saved Obama From Another Shellacking

By Lori Lowenthal Marcus

Candy Crowley, the moderator of the presidential debate at Hofstra University on October 16, interfered in this U.S. presidential race in a way no one ever has before and - let's hope - no one ever will again. Crowley loudly supported President Barack Obama's version of reality, and contradicted Governor Mitt Romney's recollection of the actual reality of what the president said in the Rose Garden regarding the events in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2011.

There was no demonstration outside the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on 9/11/12. There was no demonstration against the film that insulted Mohammad, or any other kind of demonstration. There was an assault on our country. And our government officials knew that, yet repeatedly attempted to spin it away from that conclusion.

Egyptian Reporter Defaces Subway 'Anti-Savage' Ad, Sprays an Opponent, Gets Arrested (Video)

By Lori Lowenthal Marcus

Eltahawy was arrested Wednesday evening, September 26, in a New York City subway station because she insisted free speech included her right to deface an ad espousing a message with which she disagreed -- Pamela Geller's anti-Jihad ad. She also insisted her free speech right extended to spraying toxic paint on a woman, Pamela Hall, who tried to interfere with Eltahawy's efforts to deface Geller's ad. And then Eltahawy blamed Hall for interfering with her free speech rights and accused the arresting police officers of interfering with her "non-violent" protest, thereby engaging in anti-democratic activity.

J Street has given you $60,000, and as you know, J Street is funded by an attorney for the Saudi Embassy and has also been funded by the producer of one of the most anti-Semitic films ever made ...," but Griffith was not allowed to finish his question. Contrary to J Street and Media Claims, Former IDF Chief Halutz Is Hawkish on Iran

By Lori Lowenthal Marcus

Publicly, J Street repeatedly states that Halutz is against the drawing of "red lines," that is, the line in the sand beyond which military action against Iran must be taken. There are commentators who crow that Halutz's opposition to red lines reveals a reluctance to use force against Iran, and that it is an explicit criticism of the Israeli prime minister. J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami wrote: "Gen. Halutz has repeatedly said that … there is nothing to be gained from the public calls for deadlines and red lines." But Halutz, who is definitely against red lines, doesn't like them because he thinks they interfere with effective military strategies. Halutz says that Israel may even have to “go it alone.”

There have also been changes regarding Israel between the 2008 Republican Party Platform and the one just passed in Tampa at last week's Republican Party Convention - and those appear to be more favorable to Israel.
