Former Israeli Ambassador Ayalon Visits Hebrew Academy

In cooperation with WIZO, the Women’s International Zionist Organization, former Israeli ambassador Danny Ayalon visited the Hebrew Academy (RASG) and spoke to students in the high school on October 15.

Ambassador Ayalon began his career in Israel’s Foreign Service in Panama, went on to the UN mission in New York, and was the political adviser to three different prime ministers: Ehud Barak, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Ariel Sharon. In 2002 he was appointed Israel’s ambassador to Washington and cultivated a strong relationship with President George W. Bush.

Upon his retirement from the diplomatic service in 2006, he joined Nefesh B’Nefesh, an organization committed to revitalizing aliyah, and the Or Movement for settlement in the Negev and the Galilee. In 2009 he was sworn in as a member of Knesset representing the Yisrael Beiteinu party and served deputy foreign minister until 2013. Since 2014 he has been serving as a visiting professor of foreign policy studies at Yeshiva University. He frequently writes in Israeli and international newspapers.

RASG Hebrew Academy is an Orthodox Jewish college and yeshiva preparatory school serving students through grade 12.
