In Memory of my Brother

By Letters to the Editor

|

February 6, 2013, 9 AM ET

My brother, Rabbi Zelig Meir Cantor, lived his entire life for the love of Torah. He was a respected Rabbi who established a Kollel in Jerusalem. My brother and sister in law raised 14 beautiful children who are all involved in Torah studies.

Today is my brother’s second yartzheit and a Torah was dedicated in his memory.

More than 500 men attended this beautiful smicha. I truly can’t express what a devoted and respected Rabbi he was.

My brother and I grew up in Brooklyn. My brother attended Chaim Berlin Yeshiva and Mesivta.

We cared for each other. Those were very difficult years.

For the last ten years of his life he became very ill and lost his vision. He was cared for with much love and respect. His love of Torah will live on for many years to come.
