Iron Dome Intercept Stats

IAF senior officer reports that the Iron Dome rocket intercept system, intercepted 90% of the rockets fired at Israeli population centers during Operation Defensive Edge.

He said that there were 600 successful intercepts -- and now cleared for publication, he announced that the Iron Dome has started to intercept mortar rockets as well -- over 10 mortars were intercepted.

Of the 3500 rockets fired at Israel, 1000 of them were mortars. 250 of the rockers fired had a reach of 40 and 60 kilometers, capable of hitting Central Israel, Jerusalem, and beyond.
