Israeli Technology Key To Rescuing Trapped Soccer Team

Happily, as has been widely reported, the 12 Thai soccer players and their coach, who were trapped in a cave for over two weeks by a flash flood, have been rescued. While the effort involved Thai special forces and experts from many countries, we make special note of the key role played by Israeli technology.

First responders were initially unable to coordinate their efforts because available communications systems didn’t work in the underground caves. So Thai special forces contacted the local agent of the Israeli communications technology company Maxtech – which is  known for its cutting-edge technology – and Maxtech training personnel soon went to Thailand to help, bringing with them 17 of the company’s state-of-the-art emergency radio units.

Israel21c reported that the technology behind these radio units took 10 years to develop and is exclusive to Maxtech.

Lately, Thailand’s relations with Israel have significantly warmed, with the former seeking to benefit from the long list of things Israel has to offer a developing country. This episode is but the latest indication that the trend of turning to Israel for help is, thank God, catching on.
