The Men’s Singles event is part of the Open division of wheelchair tennis, for athletes with an impairment primarily in their lower limbs.

Singles Success After Grinding Victory

The young Israeli’s most notable achievement was securing his first-ever Grand Slam singles victory in the first round. Lysov defeated American wild card Conner Stroud in a hard-fought three-set match, coming from a set down to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

In the quarterfinals, Lysov faced the ultimate test against the reigning champion and world No. 1, Tokito Oda of Japan. Lysov fought valiantly but ultimately fell in straight sets, 3-6, 2-6, as the top seed continued his title defense. Lysov’s aggressive play and impressive composure against the world’s best signaled a major step forward in his promising career.

Doubles Campaign

In Men’s Doubles, Lysov partnered with Daniel Rodrigues of Brazil, but their run was short-lived, as they were defeated in the quarterfinals by Daniel Caverzaschi (ESP) and Tom Egberink (NED) with a score of 2-6, 1-6.

Despite the doubles result, Lysov’s singles performance has solidified his status as a rising star, continuing the positive momentum for Israeli wheelchair tennis on the international tour.
