Knesset Speaker: If the Government Does Not Legalize Migron, the Knesset Will

In a visit to the Migron outpost community on Thursday, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said that "if the government does not legalize Migron, the Knesset will."

The Israeli High Court ordered that the homes in Migron be demolished by the end of March because they were built on private Palestinian land. Rivlin said he respects the Court's decision, but thinks the government should find a legal way to modify the land's status and legalize the homes slated for destruction.

Rivlin's comments come a day after the National-Religious party Habayit Hayehudi announced its intention to immediately leave the coalition if Migron is demolished.
