Far outnumbered and outgunned, a small group of paratroopers and tanks heroically fought and survived the onslaught of Syrian soldiers and tanks at Tel Saki, in one of the first battles of the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

35 Israeli soldiers died in those three days of battle, 3 were taken as POW, and most of the remaining Israeli soldiers were wounded.

The amazing story can be read here.

Tel Saki is located on the southern Golan Heights.
