Members of the "Joint Arab List" meet with Israeli president Reuven Rivlin at the president's house in Jerusalem on March 22, 2015.

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman called on Israeli Arabs to form a new Arab political party to compete the with the Joint (Arab) List, according to a report in Yisrael Hayom.

Liberman said at the Herzliya Conference that Israeli Arabs don’t understand why they feel there is such a difference between what they get in the Knesset vs. what they feel in the day-to-day, implying their problem stems from the misplaced priorities of the current Arab party, who seem to concentrate on condemning Israel and calling for a Palestinian State.

Liberman said that if someone in the Arab sector were brave enough to get up and say, “Even if a Palestinian state arises, I will stay here [in Israel],” that [Arab] list would get 70% of the Arab vote.
