Lou Reed Rushed to Emergency Room on Long Island

Jewish American rock musician and songwriter Lewis Allan "Lou" Reed is recovering at a Long Island hospital after being "rushed to the emergency room" Monday morning, the NY Post reported.

According to the Post, there was an emergency call for an adult male suffering from dehydration. then a woman answered a phone in the Southampton Hospital unit where Reed was being treated said, "Everything’s fine."

Reed is the son of Toby (née Futterman) and accountant Sidney Joseph Reed.

Last month, his wife, artist Laurie Anderson, revealed that the 71-year-old Reed had undergone a life-saving liver transplant.
