Gil Hoffman does his show live from the site of the US Consulate that will become the American embassy in Jerusalem in May. He talks about the significance of the move taking place on the 70th birthday of Israel and interviews Jerusalem city councilwoman Fleur Hassan-Nahoum on site. Hassan-Nahoum credits Evangelical Christians for persuading US president Donald Trump to make the move, while Hoffman says believing Jews who influence Trump deserve credit as well. The head of the council's Yerushalmim Party, Hassan-Nahoum says the site of the embassy in a Jewish neighborhood and near Arab neighborhoods could make it a place where Jews and Arabs come together. In addition to being a Joyous holiday, Purim is a very curious holiday. On the one hand, we are celebrating G-d's divine providence in saving the Jewish people from national genocide. On the other hand G-d's name is never mentioned in the book of Esther from which we read and commemorate the Purim story. Further, the very name Purim itself means lottery which symbolizes the concept of the world run through random chance. This seems to go against basic principles of Jewish faith that the world is run by G-d with divine providence and intervention.

Shouldn't the Polish nation admit to SOME responsibility for the millions of men, women, children and babies that were slaughtered in their back yard by the Nazis AND many Poles themselves? Or should they take this terrible part of history and blame the Nazis and their occupation, thereby NOT learning the lessons that need to be learned by all of us?
