New Poll Puts Labor on Top, But Only a Right Wing Coalition Can be Formed

The Maariv weekend election poll has been publicized with the following results:

Labor (Herzog/Livni): 24

Likud (Netanyahu): 20

Bayit Yehudi (Bennett): 17

Yisrael Beiteinu (Liberman): 10

Kulanu (Kachlon): 10

Yesh Atid (Lapid): 9

UTJ (Litzman/Gafni): 8

Shas (Deri): 6

Meretz (Gal-on): 6

Likud (20) + Bayit Yehudi (17) + Yisrael Beiteinu (10) + Kachlon (10) + UTJ (8) + Shas (6) = 71

Bayit Yehudi has already sworn loyalty to Likud.

From the remaining four parties, only three are then needed to form a coalition.

It does not appear that the Left can form a coalition from these numbers as Meretz is unlikely to sit with Yisrael Beitieinu, Lapid is unlikely to sit together with the Chareidi parties, and Yisrael Beiteinu won't sit with the Arab parties.
