No Meat? No Problem!

In households where meat is the dinnertime staple, the Nine Days can present a culinary conundrum.

Let's face it: It's hard to come up with meal ideas when chicken and meat are off limits, especially when you have picky eaters. And really, how often can you order pizza?

Tnuva to the rescue! Look no further than Tnuva's website, tnuvausa.com, for a wide variety of original, palate-pleasing main dishes that the whole family will love. Choose from the specially formulated meat-free main dishes for each of the Nine Days, or check under the "Recipes" tab for dozens more creative supper solutions.

Pasta lovers can choose from a hearty hot pasta dish made with sundried tomato sauce and parmesan cheese, or the cold pasta salad that's bursting with flavor thanks to the Tnuva light feta cheese, olives, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, and — surprisingly delicious – nectarine slices.

I recommend both the Potatoes Au Gratin and Cheesy Challah Bake with Chestnuts served with a green salad for a filling, "comfort food," no-fail lunch. For a more elegant presentation, try the Traditional Greek Leek Pie, or the Quick Mushroom and Cheese Casserole. Both yield impressive results with minimal effort.

You'll find that most of the recipes featured on the Tnuva site are user-friendly, with relatively easy-to-follow instructions and short prep time – usually 20 minutes or less. I'm convinced you'll be turning back to these recipes over and over again, no matter what the season!
