OU Brings ‘Spirit Initiative’ To Boca Raton Seniors

The Orthodox Union will be presenting the SPIRIT Initiative – Stimulating Program Initiative for Retirees that Inspire Thought – to Congregation Torah Ohr in Boca Raton on Tuesday, February 18 and Thursday, February 20. The SPIRIT program is a two-day series featuring leading rabbinic, communal and mental health professionals, focused on enhancing educational opportunities in the Jewish community.

Congregation Torah Ohr, an OU member shul, and STAJE, a communal organization seeking to help make the retirement-age years meaningful for American Jews, will be cosponsoring the event. The program will be held at the synagogue, 19146 Lyons Road in Boca Raton.

The program is open to men and women. The fee of $15 for both sessions or $10 per workshop includes lectures and lunch. Advance registration is requested.

Tuesday, February 18, will include “From Discord to Harmony: Navigating Diverse Family Relationships” with Aliza Schulman, LCSW, and “Diversity in the Family: Halachic Dimensions” with Rabbi Benjamin Yasgur of Congregation Torah Ohr.

Thursday, February 20, will present “Brain Games: Exercises, Techniques and Strategies for Mental Fitness” with Alyse November, LCSW, and “Torah Perspectives on Memory” with Rabbi Edward Davis of Young Israel of Hollywood-Fort Lauderdale.
