A would-be Palestinian Authority terrorist was arraigned on Thursday at the Haifa District Court and changed with multiple counts of attempted murder, attempted kidnapping, attempted robbery, weapons possessions and more.

Twenty-five year old Hussein Murad, a resident of northern Samaria, broke into a home in the town of Avtalyon, in northern Israel, intending to kidnap an Israeli civilian or an IDF officer, to be traded in a lopsided prisoner exchange for Palestinian murderers currently in Israeli jails. The attempt was foiled when a family member realised the terrorist was in the home and the man fled.

Hassin is a member of Islamic Jihad. He had previously served time in an Israeli prison for attempting to stab an IDF soldier.

The suspect told Shabak interrogators that he threw Molotov cocktails at Israeli cars following the would-be attack, and that he had tried to recruit Palestinian Arabs inside Israel to join his terror cell.
