If the oil can be extracted at a reasonable cost, and that is a big "if" now, it would make Israel self-sufficient for decades.
"Greenpeace" members protested the exploration drilling for oil on the Golan Heights on February 02, 2015. The Afek oil and gas company is set to do some exploratory drilling this week. At least it wasn't the Syrians protesting.
