The statement and the visit to Atarot were initiated and led by Chaim Silberstein, chairman of the “Keep Jerusalem” organization.
The Israeli government has informed the US that Israel won't be moving ahead with the construction of a much-needed neighborhood for Haredim (Ultra-Orthodox) in the Atarot section of northern Jerusalem.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that the government would increase the enforcement of legal planning and construction.
