The Beit Guvrin-Maresha caves located near the city of Kiryat Gat are a network of man-made caves excavated underground over 2,000 years ago. It was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee on 22 June 2014. There are some 480 caves in the Beit Guvrin National Park.
