Ataret Cohanim purchased and redeemed 5 dunams (1.23 acres) of land in the Shiloach neighborhood of Jerusalem and took ownership of it on Tuesday morning.

Seeking more affordable housing, a group of Jewish residents of Jerusalem bought land near Abu Dis in 1924. However, the 1929 riots quashed their plans, and only recently have researchers discovered proof of purchase.
According to the legal system in Judea and Samaria, any real estate deal in those territories must first be submitted to COGAT and receive the defense minister’s approval.
