The Birth of a New Israeli Identity, and Isaac Herzog's New Zionist Union

Dr. Ran Baratz -- the founding editor of the conservative, Hebrew-language Web magazine MIDA, and the director of the Tikvah Fund's Political Thought program -- joins Yishai in-studio. Baratz analyzes the "new Israeli," whose identity is formed in a mixed and tolerant religious environment; the rare "new Arab," who accepts Israel; and PM Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions and his call to European Jewry to immigrate to Israel.

Then, VOI's Raoul Wootliff joins Yishai to share audio clips from the latest English-language press event, during which Zionist Union party leader Isaac Herzog shared his vision for an alternative to PM Netanyahu. This included an admission that the Jordan Valley is a necessary border, and an explanation of why he is not going to Washington to speak at the AIPAC conference.
