Unemployment in Israel continued to decline in the past month, and the unemployment rate in May fell to 3.6 percent.

The rate in April stood at 3.8 percent, while the numbers of Israelis employed in full-time jobs increased by 0.9 percent in the last month.

In recent years, the Ministry of Economics has invested considerable effort in opening factories in order to create quality employment opportunities and maintain a low level of unemployment.

Data presented by the Central Bureau of Statistics indicated that the downward trend among the unemployed aged 15 and over continues.

Minister of Economics and Industry Eli Cohen stated that the data was “proof of the Israeli government’s wise and responsible economic policy. We will continue to work to create quality jobs in order to bring about the growth of the economy and the continued establishment of the Israeli economy.”
