Word Prompt – GEULAH – JJ Eleff

One of my favorite explanations on why we should study about geulah is:

“When Moshiach comes, everyone’s jaw will drop. Some will say Huh! Others will say Aha! Which one do you want to be?”

While we can’t understand everything that will happen when Moshiach comes, we could start to learn about it now. We can learn chassidus and peek into the divine nature of the world and how it was created. We can learn about why Hashem created the world (Hint: To make a dwelling place for Him), and we can learn about what life will be like when Moshiach comes.

In Yeshayahu’s prophecy, he tells us that in the times of geulah, “The earth will be filled with the knowledge of G‑d as the waters cover the ocean bed.”

We compare Moshiach times to the ocean because, when you stand at the shore and look at the ocean, all you see is water. But there is an entire world living inside that ocean. So too when Moshiach comes, we will be living in the same world we are living in now, but we will see the previously hidden spiritual world as well.

May we merit that Aha moment speedily in our days.
